Working mom of three Zo Lowdon was picking up some things for dinner in a Waitrose store in the UK when she spotted some good deals on champagne and whisky dinner is served!
She decided to snap a photo of it to send to her husband as a hint for a Christmas present, when she was cornered by the staff and told it was against “grocery store law” to take photos.
Lowdon shared on Facebook that she was reprimanded by a security guard who treated her “the same way you treat thieves.”
Apparently snapping photos of great deals or a killer-looking sandwich could get you reprimanded by security in certain stores.
She received lots of support from fellow customers.
Two days later, the supermarket issued a statement of apology to Zo, who shared it in the comments section of her complaint.
A spokesman for the store clarified that “Shoppers are welcome to take photography of products on their mobile phones if it’s just for their own use and we’ll be reminding our shops of our guidelines to avoid any confusion in the future.”
Keep that in mind next time before you snap.
